Nashville Fair Marks Fifth Year With Expanded Agricultural Exhibits, Midway Rides, and Patriotic Celebrations

The Nashville Fair is preparing to welcome visitors back to The Fairgrounds Nashville for a 10-day celebration scheduled from September 11 through September 20. Now entering its fifth year, the annual tradition offers a wide array of entertainment, ranging from outdoor carnival attractions to expansive indoor agricultural displays designed to provide relief from late-summer temperatures.

This year’s edition adopts the official theme "Fun for the Whole Country," organized in recognition of the upcoming 250th birthday of the United States. According to an announcement released by event organizers on September 3, the fair is structured to highlight both national heritage and regional traditions through hands-on educational programming and communal festivities.

Organizers emphasized that while midway rides serve as a major draw for thrill-seekers, the central mission of the gathering revolves around celebrating Middle Tennessee’s local culture. The expo halls remain the focal point of the fairgrounds, serving as educational hubs that showcase regional agriculture, food production, artistic creativity, and community achievements.

To accommodate attendees looking to escape the outdoor heat, the fair features large, climate-controlled indoor spaces. Inside these exhibition halls, guests can explore extensive livestock displays and discover interactive educational exhibits that explain modern and traditional farming practices.

Among the notable additions to this year’s fair is the debut of an official mascot, a Nigerian dwarf goat named Barnyard Benny. Fair officials confirmed that Benny will make regular appearances throughout the grounds to greet families and will also be stationed inside the dedicated AGtivity Hall alongside other farm animals and learning stations.

Agricultural programming will receive an additional boost as the American Black Hereford Association hosts its national conference and membership meeting at the fairgrounds from September 11 through September 13. The specialized gathering is scheduled to bring cattle breeders, exhibitors, and agricultural leaders from across the nation together for educational sessions, the National Junior Show, and the National Black Hereford Open Show.

Beyond agricultural showcases, the 2026 event lineup contains a diverse roster of arena entertainment and specialty performances. Visitors can watch live pig races, attend professional wrestling showcases, or view high-energy monster truck rallies. The fair has also scheduled unique arena programming, including an interactive murder mystery presentation and an open cosplay competition.

Culinary offerings will be a major highlight across the venue, combining classic carnival treats with regional flavors and international dining options. Traditional fair favorites such as funnel cakes and fried delicacies will be available alongside local staples. In addition, competitive eaters will have the opportunity to test their limits during organized hot chicken and ice cream eating contests.

Community competitions will also take center stage throughout the 10-day run. Participants of various age groups will compete for awards in livestock judging, home arts, and produce categories featuring fresh fruits and vegetables. The event schedule additionally features the second annual "Fairest of the Fair" beauty pageant.

For ride enthusiasts, the outdoor midway provides a wide selection of amusement attractions designed for visitors of all ages. Fair officials noted that standard safety regulations and height restrictions will be enforced on specific rides across the midway grounds.

Admission to the Nashville Fair is set at $10 for adults, while tickets for children between the ages of 6 and 12, as well as senior citizens aged 55 and older, are priced at $8. Children aged 5 and younger receive free admission but must be accompanied by an adult. For midway access, unlimited-ride wristbands are available for $35, while individual ride tickets can be purchased for $1.50 each, with select rides requiring multiple tickets. Individual ticket pricing applies to select arena events, and group rates are offered.

The fair operates on a staggered schedule to accommodate both weekday and weekend crowds. General gate admission is open from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. on opening Friday, September 11, and throughout the weekday run from Monday, September 14, to Friday, September 18. Weekend admission runs from noon to 9 p.m. on September 12–13 and September 19–20.

Midway attractions will stay open later than the main entry gates, operating from 5 p.m. to 10:30 p.m. on weekdays and from noon to 10:30 p.m. on Saturdays and Sundays. The indoor exhibition halls and educational buildings will welcome visitors from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. on weekdays and from noon to 10 p.m. during the weekend dates.

The Fairgrounds Nashville is located at 320 Wedgewood Ave. On-site vehicular parking is accessible through Gate 7 at 320 Craighead Ave., while dedicated rideshare drop-offs and accessible entry points for individuals with disabilities are situated at Fifty Forward, located at 174 Rains Ave. Attendees utilizing public transportation can access multiple bus lines serving the vicinity through WeGo Transit, with complete schedules and ticketing details accessible via the fair's official website at nashfair.fun.
